My Story
I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed and stressed at work, because I've been there.
After several years practicing at a very busy and successful practice in South Texas, I found myself up at night worrying about how I was going to keep going without burning out. Despite a loving and loyal clientele, I was totally exhausted.
I would get home from work late at night, sink deeply into my couch, and wonder how I had gotten to this point. Having worked so hard to get there, I wasn't about to give up on the work that I loved, but I was already giving everything, and didn't know how much more of me there was left to give. That's when I knew that something needed to change.
So, it was time to learn a new set of skills. In school, I was taught veterinary medicine, but nothing about how to be a successful veterinarian, which included balancing the demands of the profession with caring for myself and my well being. I hired a coach, eventually became trained as a coach myself, and started sharing all of the tools and the secrets for success. I took back control of my happiness, and rediscovered my passion in a way that was even more fulfilling than I could have imagined.
I did this by shifting my mindset, setting healthy boundaries and new goals for success, and making decisions from a place that was in alignment with the values that were important to me. A core component of this transformation was establishing habits for excellent mental and physical self-care, and finding a way of practicing medicine that was not only sustainable but enjoyable.
This is possible for YOU!
